When creating or managing a short link with Azaz, check the available targeting options to see whether country-based or device-based redirects are available.
What is a targeted redirect?
A targeted redirect can send different visitors to different destinations depending on conditions such as their country or device type, when that feature is supported.
This can be useful when you want to direct visitors to different pages for mobile devices, desktop users, regional websites, localized content, or other destination variations.
Open your short links
- Sign in to Azaz.
- Open your Azaz Dashboard.
- Go to My Links.
- Create a new link or open an existing link.
- Review the available targeting or redirect options.
Redirect visitors by country
If country targeting is available, select the country or countries you want to target and enter the destination URL that should be used for those visitors.
You may also need to keep a default destination for visitors who do not match a specific country rule.
Redirect visitors by device
If device targeting is available, you may be able to create different destination rules for device types such as mobile and desktop.
Enter the appropriate destination for each supported device rule and save your changes.
Always keep a valid default destination
When using targeting rules, make sure your normal destination URL is still correct for visitors who do not match any special condition.
This helps prevent visitors from reaching an incorrect or unavailable page.
Test each redirect rule
After configuring targeting, test the short link carefully.
Check that:
- The default destination works correctly.
- Country-specific destinations are correct.
- Device-specific destinations are correct.
- Each destination uses a valid URL.
- The destination pages work well on the intended devices.
Country detection may not always be exact
Geographic targeting normally depends on network and IP-based information. It should not be treated as a guarantee of a visitor's precise physical location.
VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, corporate networks, and other technical factors can affect geographic detection.
Device detection can vary
Device targeting may depend on information provided by the visitor's browser or device.
Some browsers, devices, privacy tools, or automated systems may be classified differently than expected.
Check your statistics
You can review available activity information from Azaz Statistics.
Analytics information can help you understand how your links are being used, but it should be treated as informational rather than a perfect measurement of location or device identity.
Targeted links and QR codes
You can create a QR code containing a targeted Azaz short URL using Azaz QR Codes.
The QR code contains the short URL. Any redirect rules configured on that short link can then determine which destination a visitor receives when the link is opened.
Use targeting responsibly
Targeting options must not be used to deceive visitors, hide harmful destinations, bypass security systems, or violate the Azaz Terms of Service.
